In Time

It's Monday.

Been lazying the whole day till my back hurt yesterday. Decided to go out and smell the flowers today. Or I will definitely die watching another Anna Olson rerun.

Asked ene if he would want to go catch a movie or a cuppa coffee. As usual, he said yes and yes. (I'm smiling just typing about this) I love you for this. =p

We decided to stay close since both of us will be working tomorrow. Couldn't stay out too late, though. Went to Wangsa Walk to watch In Time. Nice movie, I should say. The story line was quite good. Unique. But I don't think JT and Amanda Seyfried are suitable for that kinda of character. I meant, JT and Amanda? Action movie? Seriously? Not a good idea. These kinda heavy movies need to be supported by a stronger anti-hero character.. like.. Jason Statham.. or Gerard Butler.. or anybody else who've got at least a rougher or hoarser voice. Just my opinion, though..

Here are some of the movie posters I found on the internet:

We went for coffee before the movie started. Thought of going to FullHouse. Love the the ambiance.. so garden-like. So, we ordered coffee. "We don't have coffee," said the waitress. Err.. owhkaay.. what kind of garden cafe that doesn't serve coffee? At all??

Oh well.. so we went to Rotiboy, instead. Bought the signature buns, hot coffee and choco dinosaur. Nothing special, though. Just the usual butter-filled buns, hot coffee and iced chocolate. Boring.

After the movie, we were hungry. Went to Mali's Corner for Nasi Lemak and Char Kuey Teow. Tutup pulak. Raya Haji.. Duhh.

We wrapped up our detink-detink session with Satay Kajang Hj. Samuri.

The Manhattan Fish Market, Mid Valley

The long weekend is here! I'm so excited!

I was supposed to go running, joining the Larian Perpaduan 7KM Little India Klang 2011 in Stadium Kota Raja, Padang Sultan Sulaiman, Klang today. But since ene got a weekend off from class, we decided to go detink-detink. It's quite hard to get a weekend spent together nowadays. With ene busy with his classes, I need to find my own activtities, right?

The Run @ 05/11/2011
But I guess, I'm gonna give today an exception. We don't know when we would be able to go out together on a weekend again. So, I decided to miss the run. After all, it's just 7KM, right. ene is way more important than the run. Am I sweet, or am I sweet? =p

So.. off we go.. hopping from malls to malls hunting for warehouse sales items. ene thought it would be nice to start hunting some things for our hantaran. Read some in shoppingnsales. Our first stop was Ampang Park. Read about Jaspal clearance sale. Nothing much left though since it already started few days back.

Next, we went to the Hartamas Shopping Centre. I read about Sanuk and Fashion clearance sale. The Sanuk sale was still kinda expensive, according to flip flop enthusiast, ene. The Fashion Clearance was kinda okay. There were Nine West, JLo, Paris Hilton, Guess etc. Mostly shoes and handbags. Was thinking to buy the Nine West shoes for hantaran, but thought it was too early. After all, there will be more sales in the coming month. Christmas sale is coming, right?

Empty handed, and hungry. and tired, we went to Mid Valley. Basically, to watch movie, than dinner, than coffee.

The movie queue line was extremely empty. hehe. Wanted to watch In Time so much, but the time wasn't that suitable. (Syah, Huda and Abe were coming to join for coffee afterwards, so it was kinda a rush).

So, we went straight to look for food. Hungry and starving both of us agreed to go to The Manhattan Fish Market. Saw the set for two called Best Seafood for two. Looked nice. RM49.90. The price was a bargain, don't you think?

There.. Best Seafood For Two RM49.90

We started our dish with:

Quad Delights (Original Price: RM15.90)
It consists of Fried Calamari (quite leathery, though), Fried Country Mushroom (love this one!), Fried Shrimp (this one is my favourite!) and Coleslaw with Raisins served with Chili sauce, Tartar sauce and Garlic butter sauce.

Then, we got our Garden Salad:
Garden Salad (Original Price: RM8.90)
Just the usual crunchy greens. But I loved the sauce. It was served with Cajun Honey Mustard. And it was so tasty!

Next, our fish:

Manhattan Baked Dory in Garden Herbs (Original Price: RM18.90)
This one was really a catch! Baked Dory in wholesome garden herbs served on a bed of Garlic Herb Rice with scrumptious broccoli and carrots. The fish was really soft and tender. Just it has too much herbs on it, it looked a bit like ground inai =p

The last that came to us was this:

Shrimp My Olio (Original Price: RM17.90)
I don't know if I was starting to feel full or the olio tasted blunt. I only took 2 forkful with some shrimps and ene finished up everything. It doesn't look tasty, does it? Oh well.. I think I was so full by this time.

And the set was consists of two glasses of Coca-Cola worth RM5.90 per glass.

I think it was such a great saving having the set meal. The all-in-all price is RM73.40 but we only get to pay RM49.90. It's such a bargain, right? With the delicious food and all. But, I have always love Manhattan Fish Market, anyway..

P/S: It turned out that it was raining cats and dogs this afternoon in Klang. Effa told us. A blessing in disguise, don't you think? =p

100 Euros

A nice tell-tale to share with everybody..
It is the month of August, on the shores of the Black Sea. It is raining, and the little town looks totally deserted. It is tough times, everybody is in debt, and everybody lives on credit.

Suddenly, a rich tourist comes to town.

He enters the only hotel, lays a 100 Euro note on the reception counter, and goes to inspect the rooms upstairs in order to pick one.

The hotel proprietor takes the 100 Euro note and runs to pay his debt to the butcher.

The Butcher takes the 100 Euro note, and runs to pay his debt to the pig grower.

The pig grower takes the 100 Euro note, and runs to pay his debt to the supplier of his feed and fuel.

The supplier of feed and fuel takes the 100 Euro note and runs to pay his debt to the town's prostitute that in these hard times, gave her "services" on credit.

The hooker runs to the hotel, and pays off her debt with the 100 Euro note to the hotel proprietor to pay for the rooms that she rented when she brought her clients there.

The hotel proprietor then lays the 100 Euro note back on the counter so that the rich tourist will not suspect anything.

At that moment, the rich tourist comes down after inspecting the rooms, and takes his 100 Euro note, after saying that he did not like any of the rooms, and leaves town.

No one earned anything. However, the whole town is now without debt, and looks to the future with a lot of optimism..

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how the United States Government is doing business today.

PJ Half Marathon, Stadium MBPJ

Another half marathon done! Yippeee! =p

This run has been listed as my 4th half marathon since I started running since the year 2009. Quite an achievement, huh? =p But, I must say that I am not as fast runner as the Kenyans. Still, I feel I have the pleasure to run not focusing on speed, but on the mileage itself. It feels so good, seeing the finishing line even though when you glare at your watch, your timing is almost 3 hours. I don't mind that =)

Didn't take any pictures at the event (agak menyesal) as I was running alone in this event (even though I know some of the runners I know was participating). I don't wanna look like a crazy camwhore snapping and posing along in front of the camera.

So.. these two are the only pictures I took so that I can remember this event by..

The goodies. Not bad, huh?

The goodies aren't that shabby after all.. it's been a while since I got these kinda lotsa goodies like this. The dri-fit t-shirt is nice. I love it (even though there was no finisher's t-shirt). Others stuff are Perskindol cool gel, Watsons wet tissues, Active Guard sample body wash, Salonpas koyok for body, Woods flu drink, Some tissues, vouchers of Bizzy Body and some muscle-building clinic, kacang Ngan Yin, soya bean and chrysanthemum tea. And of course the last three items were not seen in the picture because abah already telan everything while I was rearranging those things..

The Finisher's Medal
Yup.. i got it! =) It is said in the website, there were only 200 medals available for my category. I thought.. 'Oh well.. let's just run. I don't need medals for motivation. Medal or no medal.. I'm still running.' And when I saw there were still medals available for finishers, my heart leaped with joy (not sure if I leaped along, but I can feel my feet was not on the ground flying to catch the remaining medal). =p

Result from www.myraceonline.com
Look at that. My timing is really bad, huh. Hehe.. don't really mind though.. I'm happy when I'm running. I run to eat. I run to look good. I run to lose weight. That's what most important for me..

Here is what the certificate looks like.

Liyana's Wedding @ Pusat Komunit Bukit Damansara

Liyana got married today. Cepat betul diorang plan. :) At first, when she said she's planning to get married, I thought to myself, Ooo.. lama lagi la tuu.. nak simpan duit lagi, nak tunang lagi, nak beli barang lagi, bla bla bla lagi. Lagipun, just like me laa.. ene proposed my hand on marriage siap tak tau lagi bila dia boleh kahwin dengan aku. Not because he wasn't ready (he won't give me ring if he wasn't ready. He has never discussed about marriage before, not once), just that his elder brother is not married yet. He gave me the ring so that I know that he's serious with me. No play-play. Ingatkan dalam enam bulan ke.. rupa-rupanya one and the half year after that baru we started our plan to get married. Lama gila. Nasib baik laa aku ni penyabar orangnya. Menunggu gak buah yang tak jatuh-jatuh.

Back to Liyana's story, their reception was held at Pusat Komuniti Bukit Damansara. I just love the hall. It's a community hall, but it's really nice. Not like the usual community hall. This one is air-conditioned, carpeted and the walls are really decorated. Murah pulak tu, RM100/hour but without tables and chairs. Tables and chairs harga lain. They even let you choose what kind of tables and chairs you would like for your function. This hall would be in my top list when we search for halls for our reception. Checked!

Too bad, I didn't take any pictures with my phone camera. Azila did. But as usual, gambar tu, tahun depan pun belum tentu dapat. The food was extremely delicious. Maybe jugak sebab kitorang lapar. Dah laa sampai lambat. Poeple were already clearing up. I came with Azila. Kesian ene waited for us in the car at the carpark for one hour. So, being a great eater (dan lapar) we walloped everything to the last bit.

Planned to go to KLCC to meet up with ene's friends, Dol and Sri, the couple. We lepak at Starbuck's for a while then we met Ngah, Kee and their newborn, Noah at Chili's. We didn't order anything since we're still full from the kenduri. Diorang je order sebab tak makan lagi.

Fried Ubi Kayu For Appetizer. Sedap Gila!

Ngah ordered This - Chicken Quesadillas

After done, we headed straight back home since takde apa nak cari lagi dah.

CICM Responsible Care Run 2011, Setia Alam

The Event Banner
I don't know how can I missed this run. Saw it on MarathonShop and was so excited there is another 21K event I can run in. But, to my surprise, the registration has already closed. Whaa..? How can I haven't heard about this before? And it's already closed? Am I the only one who doesn't know this event exists??
The Event Detail

I was so determined to join, so I emailed the person-in-charge, Julie. She's a nice woman, very helpful and replied my back promptly. I was so excited when she said she could still slot me in. Yeayy! So I filled in the form, scanned it and sent it back to her together with my proof of payment. She replied back saying they will process my registration and will send the receipt to me by mail.

Registered for 21K route and hope I can add one more medal to my collection. Gonna complete my 10th medal if I get this one..

The Route and Medal. Nice, right?
So, for whoever out there who haven't registered yet for this run, do do it manually, as they are still accepting registration manually. Here's the form to fill in.

Siemens Run 2011

Signed up for this run quite late than other runners. I didn't sign up earlier because I was afraid it was clashing with my Paris trip. It was supposed to be on held on the 10th July 2011. But it turned out that the run was postponed due the the gathering of Bersih 2.0. They couldn't do it since the place where the run is to be held, Dataran Merdeka, will be affected in the road closures.

So, they postponed it to 25th September 2011, and guess what? They re-opened the registration! I didn't take any minute longer to register. Forwaded my registration to Wan Panjang and ene, invited them to join me. ene couldn't register since he is scheduled to start his very first semester of Master Degree this month.Wan Panjang did register eventhough he doesn't know if he will be working or not that weekend. It turned out that he is indeed on leave today :)

The 10KM Route
Didi sent me to Wan Panjang's house around 6.30am. Then dropped us at the Dataran Merdeka. The race started at 7.30am according to the clock on the Sultan Abdul Samad's clock tower. The race was a 10KM race. I haven't had my training for quite sometimes and I clocked 01:28:11. I ranked #393 out of 702 in my category. Bad, I know. Wan Panjang clocked 01:03:47 and ranked #401 out of 1194 in his category. Not bad, huh? :)

At The Starting Line (Pic Stolen From hooha.asia)
Didn't snap a lot of pictures though since I didn't bring my camera. But met Syukri the photographer so he snapped a pic of me while I was running to the finishing line.

Thank You For This, Syuk! :)
Met some familiar faces as well.. Rose and her husband, Fauze. So sweet, running together :) Then met some facebook's running friends and then Zeff. Zeff took a picture of him and Wan Panjang after the race. Oh not forgetting to mention, the morning was so humid that morning due to heavy haze. I was like suffocating while running. Here's the picture:

Zeff and Wan Panjang
The goodies bag contained a big carton of fruit juice, some bread and bananas. I didn't get the medal as it was limited to the first 150 runner only. Didi picked us up and we left around 10.30am.
