Boss's Wedding @ Kuala Selangor

Merry Christmas Everybody!

Taken From Crazy Frankenstein

We had such a long journey today.. It's Boss and Ida's reception today. In Kuala Selangor. Jauhkan? They got married around September if I'm not mistaken. Reception of Ida's side was around that month as well. This reception is on Boss's side. Since I didn't go the Ida's reception, I decided to go to this one out of respect of our friendship. ene was lazy to go at first because Kuala Selangor is like one and the half hours from KL. But since I really wanted to go, I asked Azila to come with me. She said okay (She always backs me up no matter what the issues are. I love you bebeh! :) )

But then, last night, out of God-knows-why, ene decided to go (Yeayy!). So, Azila and I left home around 11.00am (I was driving). Picked ene up at his house around 12.00noon and off we go. The journey was so far, we practically had nothing lefy to talk about.

We got there around 1.30pm and to our surprise, their reception was in the stadium. IN THE STADIUM! Wow.. Boss, hats off for you! :D Boss and Ida came in while we were having our lunch. We were so hungry that time, but how unlucky we are.. the food were about to finish.. haih..

So, we sat for a while watching the couple looking beautifully sitting on the dais. People came up to them for tepung-tawar and congratulated them. Dev was his bestman.

We left around 2.30pm and headed to The Curve for a drink. We went to The Gardens (check out their website, cantik sangat!) to have ene's favourite Cappucino Viennese while I had just one of their infamous mocktails. Couldn't remember the name but I remember the tasteless liquid really well because it contained no sugar. I even put in ene's brown sugar sachet into my glass.. hehe..

We lepak just the three of us while waiting for Shah and Huda to come. They were on their way to The Curve as well when we called ajak lepak. We were there until around 5.00pm then we went to KK Home Deco in Kota Damansara since Azila wanted to buy some flowers for her hantarans. OMG.. they're having a knockdown sale! I wanted to buy some stuff for myself as well but ene objected saying we haven't really had the talk of Parents-to-Parents yet. I was so devastated hearing that. Sampai bila nak tunggu? You wanna wait til the price gone up then only you buy? Kecik hati sangat. I'm so excited about our wedding but he doesn't seem to care. I ended up didn't buy anything for my wedding. And I promised myself to stop caring and mentioning about it to ene.

We went to Azila's home to rest for a while. Then we headed to Kajang to have Satay Tembusu for our dinner.

The 32nd Anniversary!

 It's Saturday!

And it's a day before Christmas. And no.. I don't celebrate Christmas. It's just that a just love to see the season's decorations and celebration. It's just so lively. And lovely. However you want to see it. I just love the red and green colors associated with Christmas. You're gonna see this two colours everywhere you go especially at the malls. They usually put up really big Christmas trees full with colorful and shiny ornaments. Maybe that's why Christmas have been such a warm and wonderful celebration.

Above all that, there's another more important celebration going on at home. It Mama & Abah 32nd Wedding Anniversary! Can you believe it? 32nd.. Such a long time, honey. I wonder how they can hold it for such a long period. A really hope my marriage will be as strong as their's, right ene? :)

Happy 32nd Anniversary, Mama & Abah. I wish you the best health and may you enjoy your anniversary more than the years before. Love you. :)

Kenji's Wedding @ Subang

Another wedding attended today. Kenji and Afzal's. This is actualy the reception on Afzal's side. Kenji's side was held last week at Empire Hotel, Subang. The food was the most delicious I've ever tasted for a wedding. The best part was they had grilled lamb on the menu! I think you guys can really guess how this hungry couple gobbled up everything :p

Instead of Nasi Beriyani or Nasi Minyak, they served Nasi Tomato. The dishes served are Rendang Daging (The best ever! But ene said the beef was quite tough), Ayam Percik (Superb!), Pajeri Nenas, Ayam Sambal, Acar Buah and Grilled Lamb! ene and I was so hungry that time, we took quite a plate full of food. I know people were talking about us, but what the heck. I want to enjoy the food. Not to please people (luckily ene took more than I did. Siap dengan tulang kambing sekali!). I managed to grab the tissue from the caterer (their name was printed on the tissue) to keep them as my option. They are called Manisa Katering.

After we've done eating (yess.. very satisfying.. burrp.. oopps.), me and ene went to see the bride and groom to express our warm wishes and to get going. Oh.. forgot to mention, met Buyo, Rozie and Farah along the way as well as Lily (Ajis and Ahaw's fling from Mesiniaga). =p

We left around 2.30pm. I changed my clothes in the car and off we went to the Mid Valley. We knew finding a parking lot would be hell since we used the Federal Highway to Subang and we can see the queue to the Mid Valley was overflowing to the Fed. But ene still wanted to go since he wanted to see the Property Exhibition that was going on there.

We were right at the junction before entering the Mid Valley Boulevard. There was a way to Zone A. Contemplating whether to go in or not, we decided to go since we had nothing to lose. We knew it would be like about half an hour before we could get in the carpark only. And another half an hour to find a spot.

Luck was on our side, we got a spot in less than 10 minutes. Yeay! =p

So, we went to the Property Expo. All the houses are so expensive nowadays. Sigh.. ene was so devastated looking at the price of the houses. Tried to comfort him up telling him there might be a nice house for us somewhere else.. there is.. but not now.

So, we went for jalan-jalan as usual looking for our hantaran things. Frankly speaking, I was getting bored looking for hantaran stuff since that was what we have been doing since the past three weeks. It's not the searching process that made me bored. It's the collections. Because the season hasn't changed yet. So, no matter which mall we went, the collections are just the same.

Went for coffee at Starbucks to relax and chill and discuss. We decided to put a stop to hantaran searching for a while until the next season change, say Chinese New Year sale.. there might be more new collections to come.

Around 5.00pm, we decided to go home since tomorrow is a workday. We were still full from our hearty lunch and creamy Starbucks coffee, so I bought two rolls of Crispy Popiah and he bought a box of Tako. The popiah was so heavenly, so did the Chicken and Cheese Tako. We ate in the car since it was already 9.00pm. I got home around 10.00pm.

Sister's Crispy Popiah RM3.00 Each

Tako Tao's Chicken n' Cheese RM4.90 For 3

Ili's Wedding @ PERMATA

A starting to notice that my blog entries are all about my weekends. My whole busy weekends. Saturday and Sunday. Saturday, Sunday and sometimes Monday since there are many public holidays that fall on Mondays.

December is the month of Celebration of Love. Went to Ili's wedding today. Didn't take any pictures with my phone camera. Took only with the professional photographers. Will upload it once Ili has uploaded it on Facebook. The wedding is taken place at Pusat Latihan Petronas (PERMATA), Bangi. Didn't know this place exists. The hall is not that big, but nice. Ceiling is quite low unlike the Integriti's hall that is high-rise. Carperted.

The food is well organised with three buffet lines. The menu was superb. Daging Rendang, Ayam Tandoori, Pajeri Nenas, Telur Kerutup and Papadom. Desserts were watermelon, honey dew, green guava and assam powder. Drinks were plain water and Kiwi Juice. There was a coffee corner as well, consisted of some nyonya kueh like popiah sambal and some kueh talams I don't know the name of. Overall the place is superb. Should consider the place if we were to do two-side reception. (I really hope we'll be doing only one reception. Two receptions are way too much for me to handle :| ).

We stayed back until it was 3.30pm. Met Elis, Yeen, Fatin and friends. Then we headed back to Seri Kembangan. Chatted for a while at Papparich over a big glass of coffee (our usual stuff to do), discussing about how our wedding would be. He sent me home around 5.00pm and he went home. He's having another relative's wedding at MECC tonight. Looks like a grand one..

Around 8.30pm after dinner, Azila, Mama and I went to Valencia to see some furniture to get some ideas of how to decorate the house for my engagement. It'll cost quite a fortune to change my modest living room to a nice cozy one. And where should I get the money? Sigh..

4th Day @ ene's

The busy day is over finally. Pheww!

I've been waiting for today. ene and I, we were gonna go shopping today! And also to celebrate his birthday. A moment just for the two of us, at last. I meant, with all the rushing, hassle, busy these three days with ene's brother's wedding almost made me forget how it feels like to be alone with ene. We've been so close but yet so far these three days at ene's house. We see each other every single day from early morning til late night, but we don't really feel the attachment since we were so busy doing our assigned tasks. and helping out at the wedding.

I woke up around 7.30am. Wanted to sleep in a little bit more, but I guess I still need to wake up early since I'm still at ene's house. Although her mother was quite warm to me, I don't want to get too comfy at her house. After all, I'm still nobody to her, right? :)

After washing up, I don't really have much to do. ene was still sound asleep in front of the tv (with still holding the remote). ene's mother was pressing the baju melayus that has just been washed. Then the phone rang. She went to pick up the call and I helped her with the pressings. After putting down the phone, she said she's going to make me breakfast. I was like.. aww.

When I went down for breakfast, she made me a mug of nescafe. Some fried squid balls, cheesy sausages, keropok lekor and some other fried thingy has already served on the table. We chatted while having breakfast. We chatted for quite sometimes, though. She told me a lot of things about the family (a sign that she has accepted me as family, right? =p) which some of the things I didn't expect to know about. She was being quite opened to me. And I really like that. Thank you, Aunty. :)

We got ready to go detink-detink around 12.30noon. Our actual plan was to go to Mid Valley and the Gardens since we haven't go Sale Hunting there this year-end sale. But boy, there were traffic jams everywhere at the Mid Valley Boulevard. I think it was because, all the Selangorians were going shopping as well since today was a public holiday. Hate it when this happened.

So, we changed our plan to go to 1-Utama. It was quite hard to find a parking lot as well, but it wasn't as tough as Mid Valley. But guess what, after like half-an-hour we reached there, ene's brother called, saying he wanted to have dinner with all of us tonight as a thank you gift and also to celebrate ene's birthday. And that moment also I just realized that I left my mobile at his house. Haha.

So, we went straight to Secret Recipe to have some cakes to celebrate ene's birthday (and also because secret recipe is having this promotion, buy a slice of cake and get a cup of long black coffee/ flat white coffee/ organic tea for free =p).

Chocolate Indulgence. Yummy!

Strawberry Marshmallow Cheese. Super yummy!
We ordered two types of cakes in order to get a cups of drinks. Chocolate Indulgence was just so-so to me. Tasted like chocolate and loads of fresh cream (eaten this many times already. Kinda bored of the blunt taste). I love the Strawberry Marshmallow Cheese! It has three layers of goodness. The first layer is the crust, usually made from finely crushed biscuits. The second layer is the cheese. Tastes almost like the classic cheesecake, only better and the top layer is the tastiest. It is the mixture of tangy and sweet strawberry bits jam, soft and sweet marshmallow chunks and fresh cream. It was a complete taste of perfection. Will go again for that. For drinks, I had flat white coffee (as usual) and ene had long black.

After having our drinks, we went jalan-jalan for a while searching for my Aldo and Nine West shoes. Yeah.. I know. I still want Nine West even though Falsya got it for her hantaran. After all, It's gonna a year until my wedding. Who could've remembered? =p

Saw this nice stilettos with rhinestones on it. Priced at RM429 and discounted at RM300. Wanted to grab it but ene asked to wait for another offer since we were quite in a rush that time. Oh well..

Nice, huh. Looks something like this, only higher
We never found Aldo. So, we went home for the dinner. The dinner was at the TGI Friday's, Wangsa Walk located in Wangsa Maju. There were five of us. ene's mother, brother, Falsya, ene himself and I. I had the nicest short ribs of all time. I didn't know TGIF short ribs was this delicious! ene's brother ordered the Friday's Three-For-All as appetizers.

A snap before the food arrive

Friday's Three-For-All RM35.90
I just love this appetizer! It consists of three really tasty stuff! Fried Mozarella, Mozzarella cheese coated in special Italian-style breading then deep-fried, served with a rich marinara sauce. Loaded Potato Skins, loaded with cheddar cheese and crisp beef bits, served with sour cream and green onions. Spicy Buffalo Wings, the traditional upstate New York-style chicken wings marinated in spicy sauce then deep-fried, served with crisp celery sticks and tangy Bleu Cheese dressing. I went googoogaagaa for this.

My Friday's Braised Short Ribs RM50.90
I would go again for this. That time, I was kinda full from the afternoon cakes and I couldn't finish up the ribs. But it was damn nice. It was so moist and tender! I've never loved beef like this. The ribs are slowly braised in their own savory juices. It was served with roasted garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. The taste of garlic really brings out the flavour of the ribs.

Friday's Beef Ribs RM52.90
ene's brother ordered this. He said, it was tasty. But not as tasty as Tony Roma's. This beef ribs is expertly cooked to ensure they're fall-off-the-bone tender. Then, they're fire-grilled and glazed with tangy barbecue sauce and serve with crispy fries.

Sizzling Chicken and Shrimp RM32.90
ene's mother ordered this since she is allergic to beef. Looked tasty but I couldn't have a taste of it since we were sitting quite far from each other. It consists of sautéed garlic-marinated chicken breast and plump shrimp tossed with zesty roma tomato-basil salsa. Served with onions and peppers and our cheddar cheese mashed potatoes on a sizzling platter of melted Colby and Jack cheeses.

Friday's Grilled Salmon RM45.90
Falsya ordered this. A chargrilled North Atlantic salmon fillet served with seasonal vegetables and cheddar cheese mashed potatoes. I didn't bother to try this since I've eaten it before during my lasy day in Bright Mind Resources. My boss, Amal, bought us lunch to celebrate my farewell. For me, the fish was quite dry (After all, it's grilled salmon. How else could it tasted like, right?). But I really love the mashed potatoes as it was ribboned with melted cheddar cheese. You can never go wrong with cheese, can you?

Abang Wan and Falsya Feasting

The Food From ene's Mother's View

After we have done eating, the staff suddenly approached us with a plate of desserts. Falsya and ene's brother made a surprise for him for his birthday hehe..

We Really had a Great Time.. :)
Just the usual stuff of celebrating.. standing on the chair.. giving a speech with a ketchup bottle in his hand.. we sang happy birthday and candle blowing. It was such a nice moment.

And at the same time, I couldn't stop thinking.. we were so busy celebrating our birthdays with friends doing what youngsters do best during our younger years, we just forget how warmth and nice it can be celebrating with family.. And I think.. this is the beginning of celebrating special occasions with family instead of friends..

3rd Day @ ene's

So the Solemnization Ceremony has finally ended. Abang Wan and Falsya has safely become a newly wed. So happy for them.. I really hope my turn will come quick.

Now, the time for the reception. I don't have any pictures with me as they haven't finalized everything yet. Will update later.

So, me and Azila's job at the reception was to be the bridesmaid to the bride. Not the one who's standing beside the bride, but the one who's giving the bunga telur after the guests done their upacara merenjis.

We got up around 6.30am to get ready. Only ene's mother and little brother, Azila and I will be going this early. ene will be going with the boys, Shah and Panjang. Went for breakfast at Sri Gombak area. Had this really nice Wantan Mee with Sesame Fried Chicken. It was so tasty! It even comes with a bowl of soup. You can opt to put in dumplings in the soup or just the fried ones. And I opted for the fried ones.

After a hefty breakfast, we headed to the hall. The dais is already up. Nice and looking so grande. It was a three-panel dais. But the pillars were so big, it looks like a real place for the King. The dais was provided by Sirih Junjung and it was price at RM3,500. It's considered quite cheap for me as this kinda big dais usually are priced around RM8,000 - RM10,000 easy. Oh and they told us this is one of their new dais. They only have installed it for the second time.

They Even Made Our Dais as the Headline! =p
Nice, huh? So, after checking out the dais, I went to change for my silver baju kurung. Then I waited for ene to have our lunch together before starting our day. The food was provided by Ekhwan Services. This was the second time I had food from Ekhwan. The first one was at Abe's brother's reception. And boy, it was so delicious. The menu were:
  • Nasi Bariani Ekhwan (Basmathi A1 Pakistan)
  • Nasi Putih
  • Ayam Masak Merah
  • Daging Bariani Ekhwan
  • Dalca Sayuran
  • Acar Buah
  • Papadom
  • Minuman Kordial & Air Mineral
  • Pencuci Mulut: 2 Jenis Kuih Tradisional & Buah Orange
The Newly Wed
Guests started coming in around 11.30am. The boys were assigned to wait for the guests at the main entrance and I will be following the Bride and Groom from the lobby.

The Couple Cutting the Cake
My task took me less than half an hour. I was so relieved after my task was done. Since I had nothing else better to do, I went with the guys and chatted while waiting for my family as they promised to come. They came around 3.30pm and headed back around 4.00pm. We had another round of food at 4.30pm after all guests has gone home. I was so hungry okayy! Got to taste the wedding cake as well. =p

The Reception
All and all, the reception ended around 5.00pm. After we loaded all the presents, we headed straight back home with sore bodies.

Late in the evening, we went to Falsya's house for the opening presents ceremony. They got quite a lot of present for thier wedding. Oh boy.. such a wonderful celebration of love. I really hope that my wedding would just as nice as theirs..

2nd Day @ ene's

Today remarked the date on ene's brother's solemnization.

I think, all my life, this is the second time I watched a solemnization ceremony. I've always like solemnization ceremony. Especially when they use microphones. I like to listen to every details of the speech. =)

I wore a hot pink baju kurung today. and ene wore a soft pink baju melayu. I seldom see him in baju melayu, I felt like falling in love with him again. I didn't know, pink could really suits him.

Some of the Guests Having Their Breakfast
I woke up as early as 6.30am to get ready and to help ene's mom make drinks for the guests. We were having breakfast at home before going to the mosque. The menu are Nasi lemak, roti jala, karipaps (beef and sardines), buah melaka, pulut panggang, hot nescafe and milk tea. I spent most of my time in the kitchen, making drinks and washing dishes. There were so many people in the house, I didn't know I need to be in front or just stay in the kitchen. It was kind of an awkward moment for me. At last, I decided to stay in the kitchen trying to keep myself busy.

We headed to the mosque at 10.00am as the solemnization started at 10.30am.

Everyone is in the Mosque Waiting for the Solemnization

The Bride and Groom
ene was his brother's bestman that day. He's looking really sweet with soft pink baju melayu that day. Looking at him sitting there behind his brother, I have this weird feeling. How would it be when our time has come. The moment when I am about to officially be his. How does it really feels like?

Abang Wan and My Dearest ene

The Groom Giving The Bride Her Dowry
The most uncomfortable moment was when Abang Wan hugged her mom. She cried so hard. I tried not to look because I could feel there was a lump in my throat. I tried not to burst with tears. It was such an emotional moment..

Mother-and-Son Moment with Me at the Background

The One
After the ceremony, we went to the bride's house to have lunch and headed back home. Pity for ene, he was having exam that day. After we came back, he quickly changed to his t-shirt and jeans, get his bag and went straight to the campus.

We were so tired after that, we fell asleep. Woke up around 4.30pm to go to the hall in Institut Intergriti Malaysia, Jalan Duta for a rehearsal. Unfortunately, the dais hadn't been up. We waited till around 6.00pm then headed home for dinner and to wash up. By this time, Azila was already here. ene's mom didn't want to go home as she wanted to stay and wait for the dais. So, ene's little brother, Azila and I headed back home.

ene was waiting at home to bring us to dinner. After taking our bath, we went to Ayam Penyet AP for dinner. I had my usual dish, Gado-Gado. It was fantastic! They improvised the peanut gravy and I really love it. It was so delicious. It's like complementing my very hungry tummy. =p

Mine!

ene's. Doesn't Really Tastes Nice, He Said.

ene's Brother's Ayam Penyet

Azila's Bakso
I was so relieved to get to wash up and have dinner. After sending ene's little brother home (he needs to finish up his assignment. Poor thing), we headed back to the hall. And guess what. They still haven't arrived! So pity to ene's mother waiting for nothing. After she finished up her dinner (a tapau-ed Gado-Gado as well =p), ene suggested we go upstairs to the room provided by the management to rest and wash up. ene's mother took her bath while Azila and I resting.

ene went down to wait for the Dais to arrive. They started setting up around 12.30midnight and we decided to go home since it will only be ready in the morning.

Pheww.. what a busy day..

1st Day @ ene's

It's a holiday today!

Why you ask? It's AirAsia 10th Birthday! Got an email from Tony asking us to join the biggest party in 10 years (sadly, ene wont't let me. I know he's worried about me being at those kinda wild parties, but I still regret of not going. I really wanted to go, though. Sigh). Then at the bottom of the email, he announced that Friday is gonna be an AirAsia holiday! I felt like jumping on my feet. I meant, a straight 4-day holiday! Jealous? Yeah, you should! =p

I was so glad to know that since I need to do a lot of things today. I need to be at ene's house around 9.00pm. But before that, I need to go the the salon for a treatment, then to Jusco to buy new shoes. Running errands like this can take a lot of time especially the salon part. =|

To cut the story short, I reached ene's around 9.00pm. Wearing only my sleeping attire, I was so shocked, there was guests. There was a car in front of his house. Oh my god. I was so embarrassed to go inside. I called ene and scolded him for not telling me earlier. He said, he didn't know. He was upstairs.

So, I came in. Shake hands with his mum and sat beside her. It was such an awkward moment! The guests was his cousin's family.

Then, the most epic awkward moment of all time happened.

Cousin: Eddie, bila pulak nak kawen? Abang awak dah nak settle dah.

Uh oh.. I'm starting to sweat involuntarily.

ene: (Looking at me) Insya Allah, tengok la kalau ada rezeki.. tahun depan..

By now, my heart is beating faster than an oncoming train. I thought it will stop there. Boy, I was wrong.

Cousin: Wahh.. dah ada calon la ni?

ene: (Looking at me again) Nii...

I felt like I was about to faint.

We headed to bed around 12 something. Slept in his mom's room. Tomorrow's gonna be a long and busy day.

Below are the hantaran from the groom's side for the bride's side. Couldn't get the pictures of the bride's to the groom's since the things were already at Falsya's house. Need to wait until tomorrow to see them, though..
